This video really irritates me because it show the frightening truth of what money really does to people. The snob in the video pokes and gloats about how rich and famous he is and how he is always in control. While the people that are around him are like pawns listening to all of his blustering. Since he is the one with the riches, he can afford to do whatever he wants since that is what society has stooped down to. But the end is what intrigued me the most for when his solo ended, the lights went out and he was all alone. Because of how he treated others and showed off his money, no one was willing to stay with him when he had nothing left. He had all he wanted, but nothing he actually needed.

I think the video take the advantage the of the musical to display the deep meaning by the exaggerate acting. The man is so proud, satisfied and strut because he thinks he can get everything he wants and control everyone surrounding him by his money. And in some way, he does buy some material and find some people "admire" and "be accompanied with" him. He is so comfort with the situation that he repeats "it's a wonderful life" for so many times. But the money can't buy anything. Just like the end of the video, his gorgeous like which is decorated with money will die down just like the lights going off. And those people who are attracted by his money will leave him someday and he will enjoy the loneliness by himself.

This video really irritated me. I did not like the annoying music and the arrogant man singing. The extravagant dancing and loud music distracted me from the true meaning of the video. I could only understand portions of the lyrics, but from what I heard, the message seemed true enough. People these days are living outside of their means. They think they can spend as much as they want with their credit cards, and they do not realize that they cannot afford many of the objects they purchase. However, the music and actions of the video did not aide the final message at all.

I think this video is intended to be a sarcastic view of the consumer today, who thinks they have plenty of money when in reality they are just prolonging their debt by the use of credit cards. People also tend to buy things they do not need and feel entitled to everything they want. I wouldn't necessarily call this a musical though, as it is just one song with a music video. Overall I think that the intended meaning of the video was skewed by the fact that the overwhelming music and dance seem to glamorize the main character without the sarcastic connotations.

I had a hard time watching this video because the song got on my nerves. I think consumerism does influence life, but if you are smart with your money you will be just fine. The darkness at the end is the negative affects of consumerism isolating the singer.

As the saying goes, “money is not everything. But without money you can do nothing”. The video uses an extreme way to express people’s money worship attitude. All the characters in the short video are crazy about making a fortune, which makes them the happiest men in the world. People are singing and dancing joyfully within the extravagant background setting. The singer, a rich guy, is surrounded by other people who seem to become a milliner by the rich.
However, the end of the show is very inspiring. The “rich” is lonely under the dark blue lights. All the paper money and ribbons stay on the ground losing brilliant colors. Is all the joy that is brought by the money merely a dilution? No, it can’t be unreal as the paper and celebrated ribbons appear on the floor. Does all the joy that is associated with the money lead to a dark ending? Maybe it does. But the video does not say that explicitly.

This video is a satirical take on consumerism. The main guy in the video shows what too many people are actually like, but to an extreme. I personally didn't like the video very much because it seemed overly dramatic and a lot of the jokes were just dumb, but I understand the message. The scene where he is in the mall seemed very appropriate because a mall is one of the best examples of consumerism at its worst. The scene of him riding the segway is also very effective because it just shows that he buys outrageous things just because he can. I completely agree with the idea but I think the same idea could be conveyed in a better format. I think that the darkness at the end could mean that he's realizing his consequences of being affected by consumerism.

This video make me think about people’s economic actions today, like no restraint in the use of credit card and buy the things that you would never use. With the development of business, many people just see the advantages of those business and commercial things instead of the limits and disadvantages of those. So many people become the slave of today’s business; they just can see the money and the benefits that money would bring. As the result, like the man in this video, once they lose money, all the benefits they have now would go away immediately, like the light turned off at the end of the video. In the video, the man sang loudly which made uncomfortable and hard to hear the lyrics clearly.

This video is pretty intriguing as it takes an issue that at times seems negative and puts a comical spin on it. It uses the light and humorous tone throughout, and we get a sense that heavy consumerism is a fantastic thing. But at the very end of the video we see that the whole thing was a charade and the man is visibly discomforted. That could be a sign of what happens when a culture is too engrossed in consumerism. Its all show, until the curtain closes.

In our society money is the symbol of power. Money make people keep working . money can even by people happiness. Everyone in our society would go to school then try to find a good job to earn money. I can’t say this is not good but money really control our life.

Really, consumerism is quite popular nowadays. The way this video uses to express this theme is kind of interesting. They are dancing in a mall, and singing how they are happy when they can buy lots of staffs. And the environment is also an intended design to draw people’s attentions to notice the existence of the consumerism, but I don’t think this form of video can really change people’s minds.
